Chair (2003 – 2010)
Pat Frerking had the honor of working with fellow Athletic/Activities Directors from the Shanghai international school community with the formation of SISAC and CISSA. Pat was on staff at Concordia International School Shanghai from 1998-2011 serving as an Administrator, Teacher & Coach. Pat now serves as the Principal of Concordia Lutheran High School.
Chair (2016 – present)
Chris is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Sport Management, both from Western Michigan University. Chris began his teaching and coaching career in 2000. He has experience teaching Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 7, as well as coaching basketball and track & field. Chris enjoys playing sports and taking family vacations.
Treasurer (2003 – present)
Steve currently serves as Activities Director for Shanghai American School, Puxi Campus. Since arriving in Shanghai in 2003, he has served both as the SISAC Treasurer and the APAC Chairperson during its expansion years. He is married to Christine (a fellow Kiwi and an IB English teacher) and has two children, both of whom graduated from SAS Puxi.
Steve has had many roles and lived in numerous countries during his 30+ years of teaching. He has taught in New Zealand, England, Switzerland, Philippines and now China. He has a Masters of Education degree from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, USA.
When he is not working, Steve enjoys going to the gym, golf and rugby refereeing. He is a member of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Rugby Referee Societies.
Steve hails from New Zealand (the land of the famous All Blacks, 2011 RWC Champions!!), where he calls Tauranga/Waihi Beach home.
